The majestic Canadian Rockies are calling! Rushing streams, glacial peaks, lovely waterfalls, icefields, and an array of wildlife are just a few of the scenic wonders waiting for you.
And the timing could not be better: it’s leaf-peeping season. The mountains and valleys glow with autumn color, so you can sit back, relax, and enjoy the view.

Itinerary:
Day 1 (Mon):
We begin our beautiful road trip toward the Canadian Rockies. Lunch is on your own in Ellensburg as we make our way to Idaho for the night.
Day 2 (Tue 8/25):
Today we cross the panhandle of Idaho and travel along stunning Flathead Lake. We move into the Mountain Time Zone, so we gain an hour.
Along the way we see the “Center of the Universe,” visit the Great Northern Depot, and enjoy a no-host lunch in St. Regis. Overnight in Kalispell.
Day 3 (Wed): Glacier National Park & Red Jammers
We board the famous Red Jammer for a one-of-a-kind trip over the Going-to-the-Sun Road. These historic vehicles, built in the 1930s, offer breathtaking views
as we cross the Continental Divide at Logan Pass (6,646 feet).
Keep alert for wildlife such as mountain goats, sheep, and possibly even a bear.
We also visit the Museum of the Plains Indians. Overnight in Browning, Montana.
Day 4 (Thu 8/27): Scenic Drive to Lethbridge & Drumheller
Today is full of picture opportunities, so be ready! We continue north to Lethbridge with photo stops along the way.
Lunch is on your own in Lethbridge, then we continue to Drumheller, home to incredible scenery and famous dinosaur fossils.

Day 5 (Fri): Drumheller Adventures & Calgary
Drumheller has a lot to offer. We visit a coal mine and enjoy a train ride to take in the area.
The Royal Tyrrell Museum is a must-see for its world-class dinosaur artifacts.
Then we head to Calgary for a two-night stay.
Day 6 (Sat 8/29): Heartland Day
Today is “Heartland” day! We drive by filming locations and visit High River where much of the filming takes place.
Filming may be in progress, so some spots may be unavailable. The ranch is private and not open to the public.
Day 7 (Sun): Wolf Dog Sanctuary, Banff, and Lake Louise
We begin with a visit to the Yamnuska Wolf Dog Sanctuary, then continue to beautiful Banff.
Tucked near Tunnel Mountain, Banff offers incredible scenery and fun activities.
We then travel on to Lake Louise for the night.
Day 8 (Mon 8/31): Lake Louise, Peyto Lake & Columbia Icefield
Lake Louise is ready to greet us today. This emerald lake is one of the most photographed views in the Western Hemisphere, framed by soaring peaks
and the iconic Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise.
We also visit glacier-fed Lake Peyto on the edge of the Wapta Icefield.
Our next adventure is a tour aboard the Ice Explorer on the Columbia Icefield (weather permitting). If conditions allow, we may step out and walk on the icefield.
We then continue to Jasper for a two-night stay.
Day 9 (Tue): Jasper Day & Possible Northern Lights
Enjoy a full day in Jasper with wonderful options, from a possible cruise to the Jasper SkyTram.
Tonight we may have the chance to see the Northern Lights at the planetarium (weather permitting).
Day 10 (Wed 9/2): Kamloops & Wildlife Park
We head for Kamloops this morning and visit the Kamloops Wildlife Park.
Day 11 (Thu 9/3): Homeward Bound
We begin our journey home with a stop at the Blue Heron Area and the interpretive center.
