Alaska Winter Adventure – Northern Lights!

Chena Hot Springs Resort is world famous for its legendary healing mineral waters, beautiful Aurora Borealis (northern lights) displays, renewable energy projects, and Ice Museum. For an extra fee you can also sign up at the resort for a kennel tour, geothermal tour, dog sled ride, or snow mobile tour or even ice fishing. The mineral waters are a natural 106 degrees, even outside in the cold you will be warm! The restaurant on site is reasonably priced (but most meals are included in this package) and all the veggies are grown in their own greenhouses. Dress warm and get ready for the rustic adventure of a lifetime! No phones and spotty TV, so bring a good book and relax. (You can get wi-fi during some hours)

The hot springs is a highlight, so do not be shy….enjoy the sensation of being in an outdoors pool with the steam “frosting” your hair and the water heating your body.

The temperature in Alaska during February varies from 20 degrees to -30 degrees so bring clothes for cold weather. Under Armor “long johns” are the best and boots big enough to allow you to wear heavy socks. “Hot Hand” and “Hot Foot” packs are very helpful – bring enough to last all four days. Don’t forget some good gloves and a warm hat preferably with ear flaps. If you don’t have one, buy or borrow a coat designed for cold weather.
